Bits and Bobs

I love that these guys hang out outside in the neighborhood, just like I did when I was a kid.

She was a natural on her new hoverboard.

Why let something like a gate stop you when you really want to get in, and you aren't a resident.  Let's just say the police were called.

Phone calls with E and finally catching up.

Poor kiddo broke her foot.  At the growth plate none-the-less.  3-week cast for her...

Sunscreen PSA - did you know you have something called a "driving ear"?  It's the ear that is always in the sun while you are in the driver's seat.  And it has the highest incidence of skin cancer.  Put sunscreen on your ears - always - but especially that driving ear or you will end up with a chunk of it taken off...

Now this made me laugh uncontrollably.  But sadly, it did come to fruition...

She's 12.  And everything that goes along with it (in a good way).  She is smart and funny and so much fun to hang out with.  She is creative and determined and has settled into middle school with a grace I could only wish I had possessed.  Happy Birthday, MadHatter!  Keep on being the fabulous human you are.

Per request, a dinosaur birthday table.

Also per request, a brownie cake.

I wish I had more photos but if you know 12-year-old girls this is actually a lot :)

Bits and Bobs - Breckenridge edition

Sunday, January 5, 2020

As usual, goings-on that didn't necessarily need their own post but should be documented.  I bring you, the Breckenridge Bits and Bobs.

Second Christmas with Spike and the family.

Cake for two birthdays.  And no, they are not 150 - J is 15, S 50.  I just combined the candles to make it easier.

Dinner at the top of Keystone mountain.  Raclette and fondue and oh so much yummy food.

And this was when it warmed up after a week below zero.

 Annual puzzle complete.

 Tub time.

Munich Friends came for a visit!!!

This girl played outside ALL of the time.

 Girls hot tub time.

MadHatter's new socks make me smile.

As do her ridiculous hair antics.

 Buttery skillet cookies!

An early morning farewell means seeing the sunrise on our drive down to Denver.

Ugly Sweaters

Thursday, January 2, 2020

It's been an annual tradition for years (Well, at least the years we are home.  See previous entries here, here, here).  And this year was no exception, though we were a little late to the game.  But we got it done, and I think we got it done in spectacular fashion.  You be the judge.  Who had the Ugliest Sweater Cookie?
