Life took a bit of an unexpected and sudden turn about March 13. With the rampant spreading of Coronavirus our schools were all canceled for the month, we were told to keep our gatherings to less than 10 people and to attempt social distancing (stay at least 6' away from those that you don't live with). Travel for leisure was curtailed, borders were starting to restrict movement, and people were scurrying to get home if they were away before they would be stuck in place. We all thought this would work - that we could slow the spread of the virus so that it didn't overwhelm our healthcare system - and if we adhered to the mandates we could resume our normal lives. Little did we know.
But I give you the pictures from our spring break (the second 2 weeks of March). Back when we were new to this new way of living and it seemed novel (just like the virus).
This is Friday, March 13th. (Yep, Friday the 13th). I had a need to go to the grocery store anyway but was met with empty shelves and meat aisles. I stocked up on everything I could. About a months worth of groceries, just in case. But I was still not able to find Toilet Paper, paper towels or cleaning supplies.
Which led to this - rationing of toilet paper in our house. And Stinkerbell, being her usually funny self actually did this so I had to take a picture!
And liquor stores started delivering for free. So I stocked up.
And Stinkerbell made me a great sign for the bar.
Our friend group shrunk to just 2 friends each from the neighborhood. A came over to made clay figures.
And we had A, A, and G over to swim.
A bike ride with A and her mom to the Everglades.
MadHatter and I got good at Jenga.
Stinkerbell and I did a puzzle (or 3) with a little help from the cat.
We made Mermaid cupcakes...
And Cloud bread and muffins.
We built a fort to watch tv...
and eat dinner in.
The girls added some blue highlights to their hair (this is before washing)
And we started zooming with all of the people we could no longer see.
But one thing stayed the same (thankfully) and that was the glorious sunset each night which was soothing to the soul.
