Bits and Bobs

Friday, February 28, 2020

This time of year is pretty slow for the bits and bobs column but I managed to get a few for the month...

This usually portends a humid day.

I have a month in this thing.  They couldn't figure out why my thumb hurt so badly even after x-rays which they swore showed that it wasn't broken.  Fast forward about 3 weeks and my hand specialist said it had been broken, then healed wrong and now there is a bone spur which is causing the pain.  Waiting on final word on surgery or if the cortisone will help.

Where you can find me most afternoons...

Neighborhood sleep over for these 3.  They are great friends (even though they don't go to the same school) and we happen to live almost directly across the street from each other (the other two are to the left and right of us).

Proud of this one for making honor roll again this Quarter.

Valentines day treats!

It's off.  And it is smelly and dirty.  Stop one - the shower.

Who knew February was a gardening month???

Who doesn't need more?  A temporary art installation that we pass on our way to track practice.

Happy, Happy 9th birthday Dulce!!!

What I find on my phone after letting her have it on our way home from Gymnastics.  This is only one of about 50 taken.

A beautiful way to end the day.

She isn't normally allowed on the furniture so this was one happy dog on the night I let her up.

Unexpected Disney weekend

Tuesday, February 18, 2020

We were supposed to be spending President's weekend in Orlando to compete in the Presidential Classic Gymnastics competition.  When Stinkerbell broke her foot, that was taken off the table but we still had non-refundable hotel reservations so we headed up and made it a Disney weekend.  And when Nana and Grampa had a last-minute change of plans, they joined in the fun.  We knew it would be crowded (long weekends always are) but it wasn't as bad as we anticipated.  We spent 4 days doing what we do best - having fun, eating too much and walking a lot.  Well, some of us walked more than others.  Stinkerbell was pushed in a wheelchair most of the time due to a broken foot.  Still, another great Disney trip in the books.

Edited to add:  And sadly this would be our last for a long while.  Disney officially closed all parks in mid-March for an indefinite amount of time as the world deals with the Coronavirus pandemic.  We hope to see you again real soon Mickey.  Until then, stay healthy.

The Art of Disney was being held.  So we posed for pictures and we did our part in the giant mural that was being painted...

What it looked like when we did our painting.

What it looked like at the end of the day.

Another round of the Find Figment game...

Frozen Mezzo Mix - a tradition.

Little Stitch.

Some very impressive chalk drawings.

A fabulous 3D chalk drawing.  She pretended to jump from the roof...

We did hit other parks, I assure you.  But I didn't take a lot of photos because I feel like we have taken them all at this point.  Just know, we had fun!
