Sartastically Speaking: Epcot

We were supposed to be spending President's weekend in Orlando to compete in the Presidential Classic Gymnastics competition. When Stinkerbell broke her foot, that was taken off the table but we still had non-refundable hotel reservations so we headed up and made it a Disney weekend. And when Nana and Grampa had a last-minute change of plans, they joined in the fun. We knew it would be crowded (long weekends always are) but it wasn't as bad as we anticipated. We spent 4 days doing what we do best - having fun, eating too much and walking a lot. Well, some of us walked more than others. Stinkerbell was pushed in a wheelchair most of the time due to a broken foot. Still, another great Disney trip in the books.

Edited to add: And sadly this would be our last for a long while. Disney officially closed all parks in mid-March for an indefinite amount of time as the world deals with the Coronavirus pandemic. We hope to see you again real soon Mickey. Until then, stay healthy.

We did hit other parks, I assure you. But I didn't take a lot of photos because I feel like we have taken them all at this point. Just know, we had fun!

We had just been to Mickey's house in late October. But who can ever get enough? And when you have season passes, a 5-day break and a Nana and Grampa who are ready and willing to take you there, you don't hesitate to pack your bags and go. Again.

The details are all pretty much the same as last time - a park a day until we just couldn't anymore. This time though we got to see the Holiday decorations (which I find to make a magic place seem even more magical) and we spent a day at Disney Springs watching the new Frozen and walking through the decorated Christmas trees.

I am posting the photos for posterity - though I think you can all guess that they will all be full of smiling, happy and tired faces. Enjoy. I know we did.

It "snowed"

Another first for us was Stinkerbell and I doing the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game. I won't give too many details so I don't spoil it but basically, Hades is trying to take over the Kingdom and Merlin is recruiting you to stop him. You have to find secret portals and then battle him with your cards (all free from the Prep School) until you defeat him. We didn't make it all the way through as you have to do it in exact order but will finish it next time.

Hopped the tram to see the life-size gingerbread house! It's amazing!

And then hopped the tram back to Magic Kingdom so we could have ice cream for dinner!

We met a new character...

And then we hopped the new Skyliner back to Epcot as it was the first day of the Festival of Holidays. We had Chip and Dale to find and some cookies to eat.

Very similar to the Remy game at the Food and Wine Festival, this one has you looking for hidden Chip and Dale's in wreaths. One in each country of the Showcase. It was easier in some, as their country doesn't celebrate Christmas and so the only decoration they had was the wreath. Still didn't mean they made it easy to find (I'm talking about you Japan).

And there were also cookies to eat. There was a special cookie in 5 of the countries. If you tried all 5, you got a free one and a glass of milk at the end. Challenge accepted.
