A Rockin' Time

Saturday, January 26, 2019

This is what the outside temperature looked like when we arrived in Hollywood Studios on Monday.  I know that isn't very cold in the eyes of many but with the wind blowing and the sun barely making itself known, it was cold.  You'll just have to trust me.  But we had a mission and by golly, we were going to accomplish it.   How else would we know which land had our favorite roller coaster/ride?  So far we had ridden Space Mountain (in the dark!), Big Thunder Mountain and the Seven Dwarves Mine Train at the Magic Kingdom, Expedition Everest (backwards, in the dark) at the Animal Park, Mission SPACE (not a roller coaster but can make you queasy by pulling more G's than should be allowed) and Test Track at Epcot.  Now we just had to hit the Rockin' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios.  It has been on our list for a while now but with wait times that are usually over 2 hours, sometimes up to 3 or 4, we had just never managed it.  With the cold, it was keeping people home longer than normal so we lucked out and the line was only 45 minutes.  It was still a pretty windy and chilly 45 minutes but we played with some Snapchat filters while we killed time...

These two even snuggled!  Which if you know my girls is a rare sight indeed.

I thought this was fun.  Each of our names popped up on the screen as we came inside to the waiting area.  Must be those Magic Bands they are scanning constantly.  Finally, it was our turn.  What was our final verdict of Rockin' Roller Coaster?

 BEST! ROLLER COASTER!  EVER!
And I might have to agree with the girls here.  It was pretty incredible.  We will make sure to put that one on our FastPass list from now on.

One more FastPass to go - Hollywood Tower of Terror.  Now, MadHatter and I went on this one in November when we were in town with Nana and Grampa but Stinkerbell sat it out.  With just the three of us there this time she didn't have a choice.  Poor kid.  This one still terrifies her to no end and it left her in tears.  Perhaps that was her last time on that one and MadHatter and I will just have to suck it up and not ride unless we have someone to stay with Stinkerbell.

It was closing in on noon at this point and we really needed to be getting home.  Plus, it was not warming up much and we were tired so we called it a day and headed to the car.  I would say that was another successful trip to Disney under our belts.

 See you real soon, Mickey.
